Living well

There is always room for improvement, and living well is no exception to this rule. Not only by gaining an understanding of how we function, but also by using this knowledge, we can bring about a huge shift in how we feel about ourselves. Like anything in life, it’s not just about what we know but also about whether we apply what we know to achieve the best for ourselves. With this knowledge, we can never 'not know' what we need to do to lead a healthy life — one that allows us to choose what level of physical health we are capable of and what level of psychological or emotional health we are also capable of. What is important to remember, is that WE alone can CHOOSE to stay the same (maybe because we have a great life, or we see no need to change, or simply are not motivated to change) or we can change the way we go about living our lives.

And for anything to change in our life, we must DO the DOING. Knowing is not enough: it is playing the game that’s important, not just being a spectator of our own life. Being a spectator is easy — we can all do that. And, as you might expect, it takes little effort and offers little reward to merely be a watcher. DOING, on the other hand, can be hard, but can reward us richly.

We often become what we believe ourselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. When I believe I can, I acquire the ability to do it, even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.  ― Mahatma Gandhi.
